Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu defeated a very game Rolles Gracie Jr. (Renzo Gracie Black Belt and son of legendary Rolls Gracie) at UFC Fan Expo, Saturday, August 28th in Boston, Massachusetts. Abreu officially becoming the #1 Contender for World’s Best Grappler. Sadly, before the 32-Man tournament which Abreu was set to compete in, his best friend and student tragically passed away, pulling Abreu away from competition for nearly two months. He returned to competition at Grapplers Quest Europa in Dallas, Texas on August 14th, 2010, won the $1,000 Absolute and stepped up immediately for the Boston Superfight just 2 weeks later. Cyborg’s back, he’s ready, and he wants the best in the world: Joao Assis and it’s 100% signed for Mr. Olympia, Friday and Saturday, September 24-25, 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Joao Assis is the World’s Best Grappler, period. He won the World’s Best Grappler 32-Man at Tachi Palace and that title, but Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu is undefeated in Grapplers Quest history, something like 25-0. Grapplers Quest wants to crown the World’s Best Grapplers through real tournaments and real superfights. It’s not realistic to think winning a tournament every two years makes you the world’s best. Assis and Abreu are REAL warriors and are the types of grapplers who will take the sport to the next level. This superfight will be epic for submission fighters and grappling’s history,” exuded Grapplers Quest Founder, Brian Cimins

I’m willing to climb up to the top of Mount Olympus to be known as the Greatest Grappler of All Time and on September 24th and 25th, at GRAPPLERS QUEST in Las Vegas at Mr. Olympia, my next great challenge will be Grapplers Quest’s Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, he’s next ” commented JOAO ASSIS, “2010 World’s Best Grappler”

Defending World’s Best Grappler, JOAO ASSIS has accepted a superfight with Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu at Mr. Olympia, Sept. 24-25th in Las Vegas, Nevada. More details to follow shortly, get more event information at:
